Leave a gift in your will

For hundreds of years patients, families and friends have left legacies as a sign of appreciation for the work and service provided by the hospitals.

Legacies are a commitment to life and are vitally important to the hospitals, their staff and the patients they treat. Any amount, large or small, will support patient care today and help build for the future.

Your gift can be left to the hospital in general, to a specific ward or department for research or for patient care. It is your choice!

One in five people in the UK die without a will. Their assets are distributed under the rules of intestacy, often regardless of their actual wishes. A will can easily be arranged by contacting a solicitor.

One-off or combined legacies to Barts and The London Charity, have funded the following projects:

• £2,000 (10 awards of £200 each) to nurses who have suggested and implemented innovative improvements to patient care.
• £67,000 for research into the psychological effects on patients after surgery for oral cancer.
• £600,000 for research into prostate cancer.
