From the past to the future
We are working with Barts and The London NHS Trust to transform the landscape of modern medicine for the 21st century. An ambitious and unprecedented programme of construction is well underway, costing £1 billion.
At St Bartholomew's Hospital (Barts), around the corner from our offices, we have watched as a breathtakingly beautiful new building - in Portland stone and granite - has taken shape (see picture above). When it's finished, in 2016, the hospital will become a cancer and cardiac centre of excellence. The cancer unit opened in Spring 2010, with an array of state-of-the-art imaging, radiotherapy and radiosurgery technology. In 2014, The London Chest Hospital, one the country's leading heart attack centres, will move to the new hospital at Barts.
At The Royal London, a dramatic new hospital - in iconic green and blue glass - will be a showcase for our bold, contemporary vision. When it opens, in 2011/2012, it will offer Londoners state-of-the-art facilities, in a nurturing environment.
Bold, futuristic: the new Royal London
We are also proud to help fund The Children’s Hospital, at The Royal London, which includes one of the busiest paediatric A&E departments in the country.- Please visit Barts and The London NHS Trust's website.
