HSBC Private Bank (UK)
At the beginning of 2011 we were delighted to hear that HSBC Private Bank (UK) employees from across the country had chosen to support us as their Charity of Choice throughout 2011 and 2012. All fundraising activities are focused on raising money for innovative educational and developmental projects benefiting young long-term patients at Barts and The London Children’s Hospital in Whitechapel, East London.
HSBC Private Bank (UK) have selected the projects they wish to support from a ‘menu’ of requests from hospital staff. These include interactive touch screens to encourage creative learning in hospital wards and waiting areas, a teaching aid for visually impaired children and a mobile, multi-sensory unit for children with complex needs.
HSBC Private Bank (UK) employees are being offered a wide range of fundraising and engagement activities but are also encouraged to generate their own ideas, dependant on their interests. At the staff induction event in March we had people from across the bank signing up for activities such as our 10k race in June, skydiving, international challenges (eg trekking to Machu Picchu), gardening at the Children’s Hospital and baking sales.
Lord Janvrin, Deputy Chairman of HSBC Private Bank (UK) commented: "Barts and The London Charity was selected by a ballot of all our staff as one of our two Charities of Choice for the next two years. We are looking forward to working closely with The Charity and making a real difference to the young patients in the Children's Hospital. It is such an important opportunity and I am confident we can bring real commitment to this exciting project."
A spokesperson from Barts and The London Charity added: “We are absolutely delighted to be voted HSBC Private Bank (UK)'s Charity of Choice. The broad scope of the partnership will allow employees from across the company to engage at all levels, and to see a direct impact on the lives of children treated at the Hospital. We are extremely grateful for this invaluable support.”
