Photographer focuses on fundraising for Barts
Photographer Antonisia Schroder put on a special exhibition to raise funds for Barts, to say thank you for treating her father-in-law.
Antonisia, 34, from Thurrock, raised £62 for the cancer centre during her week-long exhibition in October 2010. Her father-in-law, Philip Schroder, 49, was treated for testicular cancer two years ago – and the cancer came back again in his abdominal area last summer.

The theme of the exhibition was 'Thurrock Life in Focus', and the opening night was attended by the Mayor of Thurrock. Antonisia said: "This week has been a really great experience. I had some really good feedback from many people. The fact I was also able to raise some money for such an important cause has made it even more worthwhile."
John Schroder, Antonisia's husband, is pleased to report that his father is recovering extremely well from the chemotherapy. "We've been really happy with the treatment he received", said John, 28. "In early November, he was told that they are 90% sure that the cancer has all gone now, which is the best news we could hope for. He'll continue to go for scans and check-ups, but has now returned to work on the London Underground and is well on the road to recovery!"
A spokesperson for Barts and The London Charity commented: "We are delighted that John is now fit enough to return to work. Antonisia is a very talented and kind-hearted photographer - and we are extremely grateful for her support. She put in a lot of hard work, and staged a spectacular exhibition. It was a fantastic effort, well done."
